This week's episode of 'In the Dark' on The CW could finally see Dean Riley (Rich Sommer) could finally be getting the one-up over Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld) and Nia Bailey (Nicki Micheaux). If so, this could finally mean the end of lucky escapes for Murphy.

To recap, Murphy was forced to launder money for Nia after her friends, Jess Damon (Brooke Markham) and Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz), stole money from the Chicago drug lord. Meanwhile, when she realized that on-again-off-again love interest, Max Parrish (Casey Deidrick) was in Nia's warpath, she even agreed to store and deal Nia's drugs in exchange for keeping Max alive.

We have seen Murphy, Felix and Jess forced to become innovative as they try to adjust to their new lifestyles. However, all this proved to be too much for Jess who finally confronted Murphy for hiding the fact that she was dealing drugs now. Moreover, we also learned that Jess's love interest, Sterling (Natalie Liconti) was actually one of Nia's people.

When Nia's contact, who delivers to the prison, gets caught by the police, Murphy visits Max to directly give him the drugs, which she smuggled inside her cane. It worked that time, but the promo for this week's episode shows that Dean has caught on to this trick.

Meanwhile, we also see that Murphy and Jess will be spending time with each other. Nia's stash of drugs was stolen from Guiding Hope, forcing Murphy to temporarily replace the week's supply with her own money. To do so, she ropes in Jess's help. Will their friendship finally heal or will it crack further?

Moreover, how long can Murphy keep replacing Nia's stash with her own money? Surely, she does not have enough money to replace the whole stash? The only thing she can do is come clean to Nia, but how the latter will react, we can only watch and tell.

Another question that comes up is about who would have been responsible for the robbery of the drugs. Could it be Ben (Chris Perfetti) who recently found out about the drugs or could it be one of Nia's competitors, Josiah's people?

'In the Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c. Watch the promo for this week's episode below.
