'I'm A Celebrity' star Caitlyn Jenner reveals she built 6-foot-tall wall around her house during transition to keep paparazzi out
Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that she was so terrified she would be snapped by paparazzi while she was transitioning that she built a six-foot wall around her house to keep out curious shutterbugs.
The 70-year-old former Olympian made the revelation during the latest episode of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' on Friday, November 29, and said the extra-security was to ensure she could come out on her own terms, according to The Sun.
The topic came up as she was discussing the topic of "fake news" with Jacqueline Jossa and Nadine Coyle. Explaining her reasoning, Caitlyn said, "This was before I came out because I couldn't go out of the front door to my pool because I thought someone would get a picture."
She said "the wall came down" the day a now-iconic issue of Vanity Fair hit the stands in June 2015. In the issue, she came out as an openly transgender woman and posed on the cover, with the caption "Call me Caitlyn" plastered across the front.
That was not the only thing that Caitlyn said in the episode that made headlines either. She also revealed, much to the surprise of many, that she had not spoken with her step-daughter Khloe Kardashian since she had transitioned because the mother-of-one was "p***** off" about something.
"The first was the kids, I started with Brandon my son and he said to me, 'Dad, I’ve always been so proud to be your son but I’ve never been more proud of you than right now.' I went through every kid and Khloe for some reason was p***ed off about something through this whole process, it’s been five or six years and I really haven’t talked to her since," she confessed.
Caitlyn appeared to be saddened by the breakdown in her relationship with Khloe, adding, "We were really close, I raised her since she was five years old, I really don’t know what her issues are."
However, viewers were quick to jump to Khloe's defense and slammed Caitlyn for suggesting that the former wasn't talking to her because she was trans. They pointed out that the relationship was poor because the 70-year-old spoke ill about the Kardashian clan in her 2017 memoir and constantly made up lies about their father Robert Kardashian.
"Caitlyn telling pure lies there, it was right on the tv when khloe supported her when she won woman of the year, caitlyn forgot to mention how she has continuously said terrible things about her ex wife and step kids which could possibly be the reason they don’t speak," one user wrote.
"That was so wrong how Caitlin lied about why @khloekardashian stopped speaking to her...," another commented. "It wasn't because of the transition, it was how Caitlin treated her mum after it, spoke c*** about all of them and her father who isn't here to defend himself and made up lies for publicity."
The Olympian is currently dating 23-year-old model and Pepperdine University graduate Sophia Hutchins.
