NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: According to Dave Bautista, he never gets rom-com roles, which is a matter of concern for him. Bautista recently sat down with Page Six and opened up about his insecurities asking if he is too "unattractive." He told the outlet at the premiere of his latest flick 'Knock at the Cabin', "I know I’m not your typical rom-com lead. I’m a little rough around the edges. But I always, you know, I look in the mirror and I say, I ask myself, ‘Am I that unattractive? Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts? I don’t know. It’s just never come my way. I’ve never had an offer to do a rom-com. I still have high hopes. I’ll just keep searching."

The 54-year-old actor first made headlines as Batista in WWE and was an absolute beast. His nickname was the 'Animal' because of his stature and in-ring aggression. Over time, he moved on to bigger goals and he entered Hollywood. Unlike some athletes who try their hand at acting and make it nowhere, Bautista has too quickly achieved too much. In a short span of time, he became a core member of Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' franchise and the fans adore him as Drax. He was seen in 'Dune', 'Blade Runner 2049', 'Stuber', and more. However, the actor feels a void.

Why does Dave Bautista feel this way?

The former wrestler goes on to explain what he did before getting into the arena and behind the camera. He continues, "I bounced all of my 20s up until I was 30 years [old]. I started bouncing when I was 17, and there was always some drunk a–hole who wanted to test me. And then I went into wrestling, where it was really just [a] toxic environment where I was again. I always felt like [I was in a] bad environment. And I always felt like I had to posture up, and it was a relief that I never had to do that anymore. I’d rather handle it verbally. I’d always rather go there. And I’m kind of proud that I’ve turned into that guy, because when I was younger, I wasn’t that guy." His recent remarks have upset his fans who have come forth to show their support and tell Bautista that he is perfectly eligible for a rom-com role.

'I can definitely see him in a JLO rom com'

One user spoke in Bautista's support and said, "If Woody Allen (looking like a Pixar character) could get people to believe he was a love interest in all those movies, Dave could EASILY carry a rom-com franchise." Another user said, "He's such an incredibly likable guy, and a lot of people find him attractive. I would watch at Dave Bautista rom-com 100%." One more user said, "HE'S PERFECT FREAKIN ROMCOM MATERIAL ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? he could fit the enemies to lovers trope, the "seems shallow but is actually deep" trope, the more serious, maybe dystopian/actioney "been through hell together" setup like ????? hollywood please???"

One more user compared Dave Bautista to another actor saying, "If Owen Wilson can be the love interest for jlo then anyone can be a love interest" Another user said, "I can definitely see him in a JLO rom com…. He better gear up tho because she releases 5 of those movies a year" One more user wrote, "This really touched me in the saddest of ways bcuz Bautista is 1 of the best actors to come out of the wrestling box & to know that he feels his typecasting is cuz of his looks really makes me feel some type of way. @DaveBautista ur totally capable of a romcom leading man sir."
