Bryan Kohberger's DNA evidence

On the sheath's snap button enclosure, Kohberger's DNA was found, and it was later confirmed that it matched him. Police "stole" trash from his family's Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, home on December 27 in order to obtain a sample of his DNA. As previously reported by MEAWW, the samples they took from his father's house matched the sample found at the crime scene.

About Kohberger's charges

Kohberger is a PhD candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University who earned a master's degree in criminal justice from DeSales University in Pennsylvania in May 2022. He is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the brutal stabbing deaths of four students.

Police had put in a lot of effort to find him, gathering cellphone data and locating his white Hyundai Elantra. Additionally, the judge has already issued a gag order in the case, so neither the attorneys for the opposing sides nor the families of the victims can speak publicly about it. Kohberger waived his right to an immediate preliminary hearing on January 12. Reportedly, the next hearing will take place on June 26, as per reports.
