Since the horrifying murders, a number of Internet theories have been circulated regarding the heinous crime, the victims, and the suspect. However, Moscow PD, which had issued a robust general warning to such homegrown "detectives" and has disproved them. The "probable cause" affidavit against the suspect was not made public in court until after his arrest. It contained previously unrevealed information about the crime, particularly Kohberger's questionable actions in the days preceding the murders, on the murderous night, and in the days that followed.
Timline of Kohbeger on the day of murder
Kohberger, 28, left his apartment in Pullman, Washington, at 9 am and arrived in the area of the house between 9.12 am and 9.21 am on November 12, 2022, according to cellphone records gathered by the Moscow Police Department. Authorities claim that the sinister criminology student turned off his phone the night of the killings in order to avoid detection. Kohberger tried to hide his location during the quadruple homicide, according to official documents. "The lack of [the phone] reporting to AT&T between 2.47 am and 4.48 am is consistent with Kohberger attempting to conceal his location during the quadruple homicide," the New York Post reported.
About suspect's arrest
Kohberger was captured by the authorities on December 30 at his parents' home in eastern Pennsylvania, more than 2,000 miles from Moscow.
