MOSCOW, IDAHO: Two weeks after the tragic murder of four University of Idaho students — Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20 and Ethan Chapin, 20 — vehicles from the crime scene have finally been towed away by the authorities for evidence collection. Idaho State Police Communications Director Aaron Snell has said that five cars have been taken to "secure long-term storage" for "further evidence gathering."
These towed vehicles are only part of the massive collection drive of any relevant evidence that investigators have relentlessly pursued for more than sixteen days now. The cars are said to have been taken away to a city-owned maintenance shop that is only a few miles away from the off-campus residence that the slain victims lived at, according to FOX News.

Idaho murders: New theory emerges about survivors 'locking their doors' after hearing noises
RadarOnline reports that it is said that the cars belonged to the victims. After the vehicles were taken away for evidence collection, new updates on the situation indicate that the Idaho State Police Forensic Services is "doing much of the forensics analysis" and have forensic scientists "working 24/7 in the lab" to process the evidence and hasten the procurement of any information. Detectives have received more than 488 digital media submissions and more than 1,000 tips, but are still appealing to the community for additional information.
"To assist with the ongoing investigation, any odd or out-of-the-ordinary events that took place should be reported," local police said. "Your information, whether you believe it is significant or not, might be a piece of the puzzle to help investigators solve these murders." While it is unconfirmed as to when the scene will be opened up again, the house has been cordoned off since the day of the murders. The murder scene has since been expanded to the parking lot and the forest area in the back.
With the vehicles being taken away, Kaylee Goncalves’ mother has opened up about how right before her death, she had purchased a new car — a Range Rover. She was apparently very excited to get her friend Madison Mogen to see it. "She just bought a brand new vehicle for herself, her first vehicle," Kristi Goncalves said. "She went home Friday to literally go show off her new vehicle. She was like, ‘Maddie has to see my new ride. Like, she has to see this.’ And she was talking to Maddie the whole time going back and forth between the car she was buying."
