‘I feel amazing’: Tori Kelly says she is 'really grateful' to be back to singing after ‘scary’ collapse due to blood clots

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA:  Tori Kelly is feeling “amazing” and “grateful” after recovering from a health scare that landed her in the hospital earlier this year.

The 30-year-old singer opened up about her ordeal on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show' about her "crazy year" and "crazy few months" while revealing that she had collapsed in July due to blood clots.

Hudson asked Kelly about her hospitalization by saying, "You were in the hospital this past summer, you scared us, girl."

To which Tori replied. "I actually ended up collapsing one night and they found out that I had blood clots."

"It was really crazy and scary,” Kelly said, adding “My family was definitely there for me. I had a peace throughout most of it, but I was just kinda confused and wondering what was going on.”

Kelly said she had some “amazing doctors” who took care of her and got her healthy again.



 

Tori Kelly reveals she is still being monitored 

"It seems like it’s a manageable thing now, I feel amazing. They’re still monitoring me, but yeah I feel great," she said.

"I’m back to singing and back to doing my thing. I feel really good, I’m really grateful,” she added.

The singer also shared how she decided to release her EP Tori on July 28, despite being unable to promote it as usual.

"It was already scheduled and I kinda had the option like, ‘Okay do I want to push it back even more?’, " Kelly said.

“And I decided I’m still gonna put out this music even though I can’t promote it the way I that I usually would.”

Tori Kelly says her music is 'happy and fun'

Kelly described her new music as “happy and fun” and said she enjoyed performing it live for her fans on tour.

“Right when I was feeling better I got to go out on tour and actually do these songs live and have fun with the fans,” Kelly told Hudson.

“Everything happens for a reason but I’m glad I was able to still put out the music," she continued.
