A 38-year-old man named Alexander jumped and drowned in front of his wife after diving into an ice pool on a frozen river in Ukraine. Alexander asked his wife to film him as he plunged into the freezing Chortomlyk River on Saturday, February 5. Rescuers were called to the scene as he failed to surface after a while as the man got swept away by the fast-flowing currents under the frozen river.

After a thorough search by the divers of emergency teams in the Dnipropetrovsk region in Ukraine Alexander’s body was located at a depth of 13ft in the icy river the next day. The tragic incident was recorded on camera. In the video, Alexander’s friend was seen cutting a hole in the thick ice with a chainsaw. Alexander then used a long-handled ax to disperse the ice and is heard speaking to his wife before the incident.  “Aren't you scared, Sanya (Alexander)?” she asks, “I am not,” Alexander replies confidently. She then asks him if he is feeling cold “Aren't your feet cold?” she asks again, apprehensively and Alexander responds “No”.

CHILLING video shows mother throwing 3-year-old daughter 16 feet into bear pit at zoo

We had earlier reported some bizarre cases last year, where people may have taken a prank too far. In October 2021, an Indian man died after his friend pumped air up his rectum, leaving cops to wonder if it was a prank or murder. Last year, there was also the case of QAnon dad Matthew Coleman who reportedly killed his two children believing they were "serpent monsters".

With the temperature outside dropped to a chilling -5 degrees, his wife says “Oh my God, I can't stand it, it's so cold.” The 38-year-old then takes off his shirt, flexes a little, and makes the sign of a cross with his hands before taking the deadly leap. The wife is heard saying “It's cold, Oh God, I hope you won't get sick” as he gets ready to jump.

Alexander dives straight into the water, feet first, while she films and the man sinks and fades away in the murky waters of the river. His wife then screams in fright “Oh dear, where is he? Where is he? Oh, God! Where is he? Oh dear god, I don't know what to do. Shall I call the rescuers?”

The woman sought help from the bystanders, while the man's friend tried to cut another hole in the ice but it was all in vain. Rescuers in the Dnipropetrovsk region dove into the river several times but failed to find Alexander alive. On the next day, on February 6, they located his body at a depth of 13ft, and about 70ft from the shore.
