Hugh Hewitt praises Trump's economy and shuns Biden, Angry Internet calls him an 'embarrassment to America'

Radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt’s journey with MSNBC ended in 2018 when the network decided to cancel his 30-minute weekend program ‘High Lewitt Show’ due to low ratings. However, he continued to contribute to other shows including ‘Meet the Press’. 

Although he was one among many renowned conservative voices on the network, since Trump took office, he came under fire on multiple occasions for undergoing a dramatic political shift, reportedly displaying extreme leaning towards the Republican party. He was also called out for legally justifying Trump's alleged phone call in 2019 with Ukrainian president to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his son, according to Daily Beast. 

On July 15, Hewitt is once again making headlines and trending on Twitter for returning on MSNBC for an hour-long special with Steve Kornacki. A lot of people have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment in Hewitt after hearing him talk about Trump and Biden. 

Calling out the former radio host, one user wrote, "How host Hugh Hewitt was invited to the show to talk about Trump and Biden and it pissed off viewers. MSNBC had to put Hugh Hewitt on to discuss the 11 point lead Biden has over Trump and he starts saying yesterday’s Rose Garden speech was a turning point. I had to shut it off."

Many users have slammed MSNBC for bringing Hewitt back. "@MSNBC You have dozens of people available to do basic research. Yet Hugh Hewitt gets on and lies about Trump and the 'economy', you don't contextualize what 'the economy' even denotes, but worse have no facts at your disposal to contest Hugh's lies? Please prepare better," wrote one. Another added, "Why is @MSNBC polluting the airwaves with the ridiculous  garbage that spews out of Hugh Hewitt's yap?”

Meanwhile, internet users have also noted that all that Hewitt did on the show was praise Trump instead of offering a valuable opinion on the political scenario. "Hugh Hewitt is trending on Twitter because @hughhewitt was on MSNBC with Steve Kornacki and said 'Trump saved the economy once, he can do it again. The unhinged left are exploding! Truth hurts!!! #Trump2020 #Trump2020NowMoreThanEver," tweeted one. 

Another agitated user noted, "Hugh hewitt is a trump shill. WHY do the people at MSNBC continue to have this idiot on their shows. He absolutely contributes NOTHING of value ever." And one agigated user stated that "Hugh Hewitt is a COMPLETE embarrassment to America."
