Hozier apologizes after posting video with 'handsome squidward' filter, Internet says 'this is Jesus'

While some found the apology really genuine, others thought it was completely cringe-worthy

Known for his sizzling Irish look and the great success of his debut single 'Take Me to Church', Andrew John Hozier-Byrne aka Hozier has gained millions of followers around the world in recent times. And now, his name also joined the trending league after he posted a video of himself in Instagram's 'Handsome Squidward filter'.

After a few minutes, he apologized in his Instagram stories for accidentally posting the video saying, "Hahaha Inconsolable weeping Christ, that handsome Squidward content was just for the boys. Pray for me. Thank you." The video came after several people commented on his story, saying that he looks like Jesus Christ.

One user shared the video and said, "HOZIER POSTED THIS BY ACCIDENT AND THEN APOLOGIZED AND I AM PEEING". Soon people pointed that Hozier resembled Jesus Christ in the video, as one user commented saying, "Hozier looks like white washed jesus here," while another one said, "this isn't handsome squidward hozier this is jesus." While some called him Jesus's love child, "hozier with the squidward face filter really be looking like the love child of Jesus Christ, handsome squidward, and lord Farquaad #hozier".

One confused user said,"Jesus christ @Hozier I can't put into words how confused I was with that insta story. Tried to make sense of it for like 5 min straight. I'll pray for you, though you were having a stroke #livebythesquidwardfilter"

While some found his apology really genuine and said, "Hozier's apology video for using the sexy Squidward filter is more genuine then YouTubers' apology videos for being homophobic and racist." And others adored him saying, "He's so adorably embarrassed on his instagram story omg what I wouldn't give to have Hozier send me a sexy squidward vid on insta."

While another user joked, "A cultural reset @Hozier take my hand in marriage and I’ll delete this #hozier #handsomesquidward." And another user posted his apology video and said, "me when I tweet a typo and then have to delete it hoping that no one saw | hahahaha."

While some wanted to just UNSEE the video, "Hozier really made me cringe tonight I can’t unsee what I just saw. Jesus Christ poor man child I have second-hand embarrassment but he’s taking it like a champ! #Hozier."

Hozier made his debut in 2013 with 'Take Me to the Church', which topped the charts in Ireland and scored the top ten position on global charts. He released an EP titled 'Nina Cried Power' in September 2018. Later, in March 2019, he released his second album, 'Wasteland, Baby!'
