ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA: Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, aka Dr DisRespect, is a streamer and YouTuber known for his flaming antics and bombastic personality. Through the years, he has gained four million subscribers on YouTube and 4.5 million followers on Twitch.

In 2011, he began his streaming career by uploading Call of Duty videos and later became linked with Sledgehammer Games. Dr DisRespect is credited for contributing to multiple levels in COD: Advanced Warfare, and after quitting his job in 2015, he began streaming full-time on Twitch.

However, he was permanently banned from the platform in 2020, leading to his switch to YouTube. Dr DisRespect's height is 6 feet 8 inches (203 cm) and this claim has always kept his fans curious. 

Dr DisRespect's height has been questioned by many

Dr DisRespect claims to have a height of 6 feet 8 inches (203 cm). However, many people have questioned his stature over the years.

Even the host of the H3 podcast, Ethan Klein, revealed that he initially felt that Dr DisRespect's height was a bluff, but seeing him in person did change his mind. Notably, Klein is said to have a height of 5 feet 10 inches (177.8 cm), making him significantly shorter than Dr DisRespect.

"When I first watched your stream, you were like, 'I'm 6'8"'. And I'm like, what? This guy is a f**king comedian right? Who's 6'8"? And now that I see that you're 6'8"," said Klein during an episode of his podcast. 

In 2018, Dr DisRespect shared a photo in which he can be seen taking a selfie with fellow streamers Shroud and Justin, making it evident that he towered over the others.

Moreover, there's no doubt that his height played a crucial role as he participated in college basketball in the NCAA Division II.

Because Dr DisRespect always wears heavy-duty boots, his true height has always been a topic of debate. A fan once shared his thoughts about Dr DisRespect's height in the r/tall subreddit, writing, "Dude is tall, but look at the size of the heels on his boots, probably gets another couple of inches out of them too."

After realizing the towering measurement of the streamer, a Twitter user posted, "Everyone realising Dr Disrespect wasn't lying about his height."

What is Dr DisRespect's height as compared to Mrs Assassin? 

The true stature of Dr DisRespect is quite evident when he posts pictures with his wife, who is known online as Mrs Assassin. As per sources, her height is 5 feet 5 inches (165 cm), making her significantly shorter. 

While not much is known about when the couple got married, they have apparently been together for 15 years, as pointed out by Dr DisRespect in one of his Instagram posts.

Controversies surrounding Dr DisRespect

Herschel Beahm, more popularly known as Dr DisRespect, has had a curious history of getting banned from streaming platforms. 

Initially, DisRespect was temprarily suspended from Twitch after the streaming from the bathroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3, per Forbes. 

However, at the height of his success, in June 2020, DisRespect was permanently banned from the platform. Neither the streamer nor Twitch has explained the reason of his ban. 

While the reason was disclosed, fans speculated it was probably becuase of multiple reasons including his use of controversial language and behavior.

The man himself addressed the ban and tweeted addressing the 'Champions Club', "Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision... Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time."

Within a month of getting banned from Twitch, Dr DisRespect came to YouTube. At present he has 4.64 million subscribers.

His YouTube career, too, is not without controversies as he was was temporarily banned from YouTube after he streamed copyrighted material. During WWDC keynote in June 2023, he accidentally switched on his camera leading to his brief ban from the platform. 

Per MeriStation, he said after the ban, “What? I guess we can’t watch the Apple event, or what? Is that the issue? I just wanna see this headset, man. Give me back my son! You can’t stop the Doc.”

To the respite of his fans, the ban was quickly lifted.

Dr DisRespect's impact on the gaming community

With a whopping following of 4.64 million subscribers on YouTube, Dr DisRespect exerts a massive impact on the gaming community. He is mainly known to play battle royale games including 'Call of Duty' and 'PUBG'. 

His influence has increased manifold after he announced the launch of a triple A gaming studio named Midnight Society in December 2021.

Dr DisRespect made his career in gaming primrily by playing battle royale games. He launched his streaming career on Twitch by predominantly playing H1Z1 before switching to PUBG: Battlegrounds. 

Later he moved to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. He also lent his voice for the 'Rogue Company' video game iin 2020 and 'PUBG Mobile' in 2021.

Dr DisRespect’s YouTube channel 

Dr DisRespect's ban from Twitch on June 26, 2023 paved the way for his return to YouTube. While he has a YouTube channel previously, he did not post anything on his channel because of exclusivity contract with Twitch.

42 days after his ban from Twitch, DisRespect announced his return to YouTube after he tweeted a link of his YouTube account on August 6, 2020. He wrote in the caption, "Tomorrow, we arrive."

On August 7, he returned to streaming at 1 pm PDT.  At present, his YouTube channel has around 1k videos of him playing battle royale games and winning them.

While his overall journey on YouTube appears to be smooth, at one point he vented out his frustration about the streaming platform online.

On August 13, 2022, he took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to vent out against YouTube as Guy Beahm. 

He said, "It’s amazing to think the platform Doc streams on doesn’t support him one bit. No follow, zero communication, absolutely no love."

He continued, "The impact we’ve had on YouTube streaming growth is insane. We’ve been taken advantage of…. Jesus YouTube, show some respect."

The $1-year-old streamer has an impressive background in education as well. DisRespect was a student of the prestigious California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, from where he graduated in 2005. 

He also played basketball at NCAA Division II during his university days.

DisRespect's continuous association with the battle royale games won him several accolades including Esports Industry Awards' 'Streamer of the Year' prize and The Game Awards' 'Trending Gamer' prize in 2017.

He also won the 'Streamer of the Year' award in 2019 at Esports Awards and earned a nomination for the same in 2021.

Dr DisRespect is married to his wife who goes by the name Mrs Assassin. He also has a daughter who often appears in his live streams.

Why did Dr DisRespect get banned?

While the primary reason of his ban is not known, on August 2021, he shared that he knew for months the reason for his ban and his intentions of lawsuit suggested major damages. 

In March 2022, he however, said that both he and Twitch have  resolved their differences. However, not a single party admitted of wrongdoing.
