Nev Schulman is the face of MTV's massive hit series 'Catfish'. Reruns of old and new episodes of the show keep airing on the network almost every day and it still continues to pique the interest of viewers. Nev Schulman has hosted the show since its inception in November 2012. Former co-host Max Joseph's name too was synonymous with 'Catfish' but he quit the show in 2020 and was replaced by model Kamie Crawford who has immediately become a favorite with viewers.

Season 8 that aired in September 2020 marked the show's first virtual season but Crawford and Schulman were spot on with tracking down scammers pretending to be someone else online and taking advantage of trusting people looking for nothing but a romantic relationship with somebody. The show is considered to be a cultural phenomenon and over the years it hasn't just helped Schulman become a household name but also contributed massively to his net worth. Here's a look at how much the 'Catfish' host is worth.

What is Nev Schulman's net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Schulman's net worth is estimated to be $500,000 and most of it has come from hosting 'Catfish' over the past eight years. His net salary per season hasn't been revealed ever but according to an article, he likely makes upward of $100,000 per season. Schulman started his career as an independent filmmaker, which is how he produced 'Catfish' the movie which was based on his real-life experience. Schulman created the movie after being catfished himself and fortunately, MTV loved the concept and decided to adapt it into a reality series and cast Schulman as the host.

Schulman's popularity grew and opened up new arenas for him including a book deal. He penned 'Life: Love, Lies, & Identity in the Digital Age' and it was published in 2014. The book discusses Schulman’s own experience along with what he’s learned from working with couples on the show. He was also seen in the recent season of 'Dancing With the Stars' on ABC Network. Schulman had studied dance at Sarah Lawrence College and this helped him massively on the show. He made it right to the top but 'Bachelorette' alum Kaitlin Bristowe took away the title and Schulman finished in the runner-up position leaving his fans fuming. According to an article, Schulman took home $345,000 at the end of the season.

Nev Schulman's million-dollar condo

According to tax records, Schulman and his wife Laura Perlongo purchased an 11th-floor condo in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood sometime in the latter months of 2017.  The 1,296 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath home was purchased for $1.88 million. The couple put it on the market in March 2020 for an asking price of  $2.195 million.

Schulman also has a home in Los Angeles where he lived for six years before purchasing his New York condo. He continues to stay in the same house whenever he shoots 'Catfish'. In an interview, he said, “I have a home in Los Angeles that I lived in for six years before moving, and that’s where I stay when I’m filming for 'Catfish'. It can get very lonely. When it comes to making this home feel personal, just having my family around me is enough—if I don’t hear the sound of screaming infants or catch the occasional eye roll from Laura, my day isn’t complete.”

A new season of 'Catfish' premieres on May 4, at 9 pm ET only on MTV.
