NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Michael J Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan would be celebrating 35 years of their marriage in July 2023 after having met on the set of 'Family Ties'. Michael has often talked about how his wife has been his support system throughout their marriage even after he got diagnosed with Parkinson's disease just three years into their marriage. As he has been known for his outstanding acting and his contributions to research in Parkinson's, Michael has often talked how it was all possible because of his wife Tracy.

He has also discussed his four children and how they have taken after their mother as they turned out to be great kids. The couple, who got married in 1988, got engaged less than a year of their first date, and Michael has mentioned how he was not concerned at all about Tracy declining his proposal when he got on his knees.

"She’s smart and she loves me and she’s protective and she’s everything. The kids are great and it’s her fault, it has nothing to do with me," Michael said while gushing about his wife to Entertainment Tonight. He also shared his motivation to advocate research for Parkinson's disease, for which he has helped raise about $1.5 billion over the last two decades, and said, "I don't think there's anything like a typical day at all, ever. Not to get too heavy about it, my health issues have given me every different day, so it's been how I deal with that. It can be different but consistently, it's good. I mean, I love my family, I love my work, I love my situation, I'm happy."

For Tracy and Michael, who played love interests in the first season of 'Family Ties', the real-life relationship went on even after the reel-life relationship ended, and that marked the beginning of Tracy and Michael's bond with each other. During the shooting of the show, Tracy was in a relationship with actor Kevin Bacon; Micheal called her up as soon as he learned about her breakup with Bacon.

Michael told PEOPLE, "Someone goes, ‘Did you hear that so-and-so aren’t together anymore?’ and you go, ‘Hmm, that’s too bad. Where’s the phone?" Tracy decided to date Michael and that's how their 35-year-long relationship came into being.

In an interview to promote his memoir 'No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality', Michael told Entertainment Tonight how Tracy has supported him throughout as he said, "She puts up with me. She doesn’t cut me any slack, which is great. She’s honest, affectionate, kind, smart and she’s just there in a pinch. She’s beautiful and I love her and she’s sexy and gorgeous." He went on and on about her and said that his wife is a "great mother, great cook, and great bodyboard surf junkie beach babe."

He had also told Sunday Today, "She’s there in the front lines with me every single day. She never pretends to know as much as I know. And the other thing Tracy does is, if there’s something funny, let’s get to the funny. We’ll deal with the tragic later." And that's how Michael appreciates his wife, who has been with him 'for better or for worse, in sickness and in health.'
