How long has Heather Locklear been sober? Actress denies drinking allegations, friends say she is 'lucid' and 'doing great'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Heather Locklear, known for her role in 'Dynasty', is reportedly "feeling good" and "totally lucid" despite concerns raised by recent photos, according to one of her best friends. Locklear was photographed looking distraught outside a medical center in Malibu, California, which sparked worries about her well-being. However, a source close to the actress claimed that the distressing appearance was due to some "upsetting news" she had received that day and not indicative of any ongoing troubles.
Previously, it was reported that Locklear has returned to drinking after years of sobriety. An alleged friend of Locklear's claimed that she cannot resist her preferred drink, tequila, and obsesses over her weight, having lost 40 pounds while taking the medication Ozempic. However, another source vehemently denied these claims.
How long has Heather Locklear been sober?
Locklear's recent behavior, including scaling a building ledge and writing in her journal while waiting for a ride, was clarified by the source, who explained that she was merely consulting her "datebook." The source stated, "Heather is most definitely not drinking, she hasn't for years. She's very upset at that allegation, it's super hurtful," reported Page Six. According to reports, Locklear has been sober since 2019.
While Locklear and her fiance, Chris Heisser, are still together, multiple sources have indicated that their relationship is "far from perfect." Locklear's close friend Sharan Magnuson, who has known the star since they met in an acting class in 1981, reassured that Locklear is doing well. “I just FaceTimed with Heather today and she’s doing great,” Magnuson said.
'She’s the best she’s looked in years!'
Magnuson said she last saw Locklear in May with her husband James Boyleston and another close friend, Christina Ducote. “We text all the time and we had lunch together only a few weeks ago, we had the best time, we laughed and reminisced. Heather looked fantastic, she was lucid – she’s the best she’s looked in years,” she said.
“She’s 100 percent the Heather I know and love, I don’t know who is trying to spread these rumors that she’s unwell, but it’s incredibly cruel.” As for the photos, Magnuson, a former top Warner Bros PR executive, added, “Everyone is allowed a bad day.” Locklear even posted a photo of the group on her social media, expressing, “Lovin my peeps. I love you guys.” While Locklear has slimmed down, according to other friends, the weight loss is estimated to be around 25 pounds rather than the reported 40 pounds.
