MIAMI, FLORIDA: Shakira and Tom Cruise do have a connection, but it's not the kind that has recently made them the center of headlines. Speculation about their alleged affair has been fueled by photos of the newly-divorced Shakira and the iconic movie star spending time together at the F1 Miami Grand Prix earlier in May, causing the rumors to gain momentum among fans.

However, despite ongoing romance rumors and speculation about Cruise pursuing Shakira, it has come to light that their attendance at the Miami Grand Prix was at the invitation of their very famous mutual friend, Lewis Hamilton. Shakira and Cruise attended the Grand Prix as guests of the British race car driver and their shared support for Hamilton brought them together during the race, giving the impression that they were each other's dates for the event.
