BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Cardi B and Offset were excoriated on social media over their antics at the Pre-Grammy Gala red carpet on Saturday night, February 4. The pair was seen indulging in unbridled PDA in front of the cameras, leaving many viewers sick to the stomach.

Cardi and Offset -- who tied the knot in September 2017 and welcomed their daughter, Kulture Kiari, in July 2018 -- were seen sharing a passionate kiss -- tongues and everything. The loved-up couple licked each other for some time, before turning to the cameras and smiling. The clip quickly made waves on social media, where it sparked quite a backlash against the duo.

'Why do all that on the red carpet?'

Many on social media were not amused by the brazen public display of affection.

"Damn, y'all don't be having sex in the house or something? Why do all that on the red carpet?" one tweeted. "Those who display public affection like this are usually the ones overcompensating for how bad their relationship is," another offered.

"How is that something that’s acceptable to be done in a very high visibility environment?" someone else wondered. "We are completely devolving as a society. What used to be considered uncouth and shameful is now out there and celebrated for all to see. God help the youth of this generation. All innocence and class is robbed from them right out of the womb," another chimed in.

Some, however, appeared to defend the couple.

"Ppl making comments about how gross and disgusting this is. Who cares? It's not that serious. I love how they are with each other. They're comfortable, so why should it matter?" one wrote.

"Stop and analyze your initial gut reaction… realize that his ain’t gonna’ have an impact on your life, so ain’t no need to hate lol. I understand it’s a lil extra but hey, life is good for them I assume," another added.

Takeoff tribute

Cardi and Offset also attended the main event on Sunday night, February 5, where the rapper Quavo performed an emotional tribute to Offset's cousin Takeoff, who was shot dead in November. For those who are unaware, Offset, Takeoff, and Quavo constituted the Grammy-nominated hip-hop trio Migos. Cardi opened up last month about the devastating moment she and her husband received the heartbreaking news that the 28-year-old rapper, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, had died. During an appearance on The Jason Lee Podcast, she said she was planning to go to a Halloween party on that fateful night but ultimately decided to stay home. Offset got the call a few hours after they fell asleep.

"Offset picked up the phone, and he’s just like, 'No!' He’s screaming and screaming, 'No, no, no!' And I’m like 'What’s going on?' And he was like, 'Takeoff is dead,'" she recalled. "He’s just screaming and just throwing things, throwing up, running all over. I was just so scared, I was just crying so much. It was terrible." Cardi also spoke about the aftermath of the tragedy. “It was a sensitive time in my home," she explained, adding, "Everything was so triggering, like every little bad thing and every little this, every little whatever the crap, to me, was just so triggering. It was a lot."
