LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sandra Bullock, who called her longtime partner Bryan Randall the "love of her life," is "heartbroken and still in shock that" the model-turned-photographer "is actually gone."

Following the death of her beau, the actress is going through a "very difficult time," according to a source who said, "Her world was torn apart, and now she has to be strong and pick up the pieces," reports Radar Online.

How did Sandra Bullock's longtime partner Bryan Randall die?

Bryan Randall died from ALS at the age of 57 on August 5.

"Sandra was there at every stage for three years; she knew his death was coming, but that didn't make it easier," the source said of Bullock being by his side while he battled the rare neurodegenerative disease.

The source stated that Bullock's children Louis and Laila, her sister Gesine, and close friends are what help her cope with Randall's death.

The 'Bird Box' star who had rarely spoken about her private life said she taking a break from her profession to spend time with her family.

Talking to CBS in 2022, Bullock said, "Right now, work in front of the camera needs to take a pause."

"I don't want to rely on work to fill me. But I just don't see a lot, other than everyone under my roof. That's it. I know it's not very sexy, but you know what? It's mine," she said in the 2022 interview.

The 59-year-old actress, who did not reveal the exact reason behind the hiatus, responded to the question of how long she will be away. She said, "I don't know. I don't know. Until I don't feel like I feel now when I'm in front of a camera."

"I want to be at home. I'm not doing anyone any favors who's investing in a project if I'm saying, 'I just want to be at home," she continued.

"Cause I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present, and responsible for one thing," she added.

How did Sandra Bulock meet Bryan Randall?

Bullock and Randall's journey together began in 2015, five years after her divorce from Jesse James.

The 'Lost City' actress who focussed on raising her now 13-year-old adopted son Louis hired Randall to photograph her child's birthday party following which they reportedly began dating.

"Sandra truly thought she'd never trust a man again," said an insider.

"But Bryan gave her purpose. He opened her heart and helped Sandra heal," the source added.

The duo got together by the time Bullock adopted her now 11-year-old daughter Laila the same year.

Bryan who was father to Skylar, 29, from his previous relationship exchanged vows with 'The Blind Side' star in a beachside ceremony in 2017 in the Bahamas reportedly at the request of their children.

"Bryan was a great father figure," said the source. "He spoke to Louis and Laila and Skylar about his illness and the inevitable. It was heart-wrenching, but it's not easy because Bryan was such a light in all of their lives," the source added.

According to Daily Mail, Bullock is reportedly considering scattering Randall's ashes to Three Bees in the Bahamas.
