ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Rapper Young Capone, also known as Dopeboy Ra, was found dead. This news was confirmed by his publicist Aleesha Carter after days of speculation about his whereabouts.

Young Capone was 35. The news was announced by Carter via Instagram, “This is with a heavy heavy heart that I’m even posting this. We made magic when we strategically put out projects, always,” she wrote. ‘Young Capone, aka Dopeboy Ra, aka Rara, was one of my first Hip Hop/ Rap clients, and I can’t believe the news I just got of his unexpected passing! A friend…a client and just huge in East Atlanta. This is not the easiest post at all. Rest easy, RIP.”

How did rapper Young Capone aka Dopeboy Ra die?

Young Capone's cause of death is not known so far. Chicago police found his body in Marquette Park and the investigation into the case is ongoing.

Before the tragic announcement, there was a hopeful anticipation of his safe return. There was also concern about his mental health at the time of his disappearance.

Young Capone had been reported missing since July 2023. It is still unclear where and why he went missing. Young Capone released his last album 'SlumMade 2.0' in December 2022.

Tributes pour in for Young Capone

Condolences poured in from fellow rappers and fans deeply affected by Young's loss. Young's close friend and fellow rapper Runway Richy mourned his death on his social media page by sharing a series of photos. The duo collaborated for some music, he wrote, "I hate to say this, but Rest in peace my n***a @gxdsxlldxpe @dopeboyra,” he wrote. “[F*ck] what they talking bout we dropped a classic on dese [ninja emoji]."

There were several tributes pouring in from the Hip-Hop community. Tip from Grand Hustle, Travis Porter, Jermaine Dupri, Young Dro, and JID were among those who offered the late rapper their tributes. Young Dro who worked with Young Capone on 'Friends' wrote on his Instagram post, "Really not the type of post i wanna be posting man. The making of this video was the first thing came to mind when I heard shawty was deceased. Big talent no. Condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Who is Young Capone aka Dopeboy Ra?

Young Capone whose real name is Rodriguez Smith, was born in Atlanta in 1985, he is also a record producer and film director. He was also known as Dopeboy Ra and RaRa to his fans and followers. He has collaborated with some very well-known names in the rap community, including Daz Dillinger and Jermaine Dupri.

His first single, 'I'm Hot,' feat Daz Dillinger was featured on Jermaine Dupri's compilation 'Young, Fly & Flashy.' His second single, 'What It Iz,' was produced by Nitti. Young Capone has other hit songs under his name like 'Notice It,' 'Trap Phone,' 'Dope Boy Fashion.'
