Tony Lewis, British musician and member of The Outfield, has passed away at the age of 62. It was reported by multiple sources that the 'Your Love' hitmaker died near his hometown of London. No cause of death has been provided as of yet.

On Lewis' website, a statement read, "It is with great sadness and sorrow to announce that Tony Lewis has unexpectedly passed away. He was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with his love, his spirit, and his music. He loved his fans dearly and enjoyed every opportunity he had when meeting all of you. Please respect the family's privacy during this difficult time."

Who was Tony Lewis?

Lewis co-founded The Outfield in 1984 with drummer Alan Jackman and guitarist John Spinks (November 28, 1953 – July 9, 2014). Apart from 'Your Love', which has become a staple of '80s classic hits, they also wrote hits songs such as 'All the Love in the World', 'Since You've Been Gone', 'Everytime You Cry', 'Voices of Babylon', 'For You', 'Closer to Me' and 'Say It Isn’t So'. Their debut album, titled 'Play Deep', came out in 1985 and has been certified three times platinum in the US. 'Your Love' continues to be a big hit to this day and is played on over 1000 radio stations, and averages over two million streams on Pandora, one million views on Youtube, and one million streams on Spotify, as per Lewis' website. After a long career with The Outfield, Lewis debuted as a solo artiste releasing his first solo album, 'Out of the Darkness', in spring 2018. He is survived by his wife, Carol, two daughters, and three grandchildren.
