ARIZONA, UNITED STATES: Nick Benedict, a beloved actor known for his roles in major soap operas such as ‘All My Children’, ‘The Young and the Restless’, and ‘Days of Our Lives’, passed away on July 14 at the age of 77. His death followed complications from emergency spinal surgery, and he passed away on his birthday in Arizona.

Benedict's career was filled with remarkable performances and memorable characters. He portrayed Phil Brent, the husband of Susan Lucci's iconic character Erica Kane, in ‘All My Children' from 1973 to 1978, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for his outstanding portrayal in his final season. Additionally, he played Michael Scott in ‘The Young and the Restless’ in 1981 and portrayed Curtis Reed in ‘Days of Our Lives' from 1993 to 2001, appearing in a total of 93 episodes.

Nick is remembered through his work

In addition to his soap opera roles, Benedict showcased his talents in various television shows, including appearances in the original 'Mission Impossible' and 'Hawaii Five-O' series. He also had roles in 'Knots Landing', 'Medical Center', 'The Dukes of Hazzard', and 'Tales from the Darkside', as well as substantial contributions to Tribes and Santa Barbara.

Nick Benedict's presence on the screen left a lasting impact on fans and fellow actors alike. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ginger. As of now, no memorial plans have been disclosed.

In honor of his memory, a GoFundMe link was set up by a restaurant where Ginger works, reflecting the love and support he received from those around him. Benedict's contributions to the world of entertainment will be cherished and remembered for generations to come.

He died on his birthday 

Nick Benedict's death was officially confirmed through an online obituary, revealing that he passed away on July 14. The news was further announced in a Facebook post on July 15 by Jake's Steakhouse, where his wife Ginger worked. The post read, "Nick Benedict’s birthday was July 14. He went to be with the Lord this day. Please pray for Ginger".



 

The specific cause of Benedict's death has not been publicly disclosed. However According to the GoFundMe page, Benedict underwent emergency spinal cord surgery on July 2, and he was later admitted to hospice care. The loss of Nick Benedict has undoubtedly left a void in the hearts of those who knew and admired him as an actor and as a person. As we mourn his passing, our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Ginger during this time of grief.
