Why was Madonna hospitalized?
Madonna was hospitalized a few weeks before her birthday due to a serious bacterial infection. Her longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed the news on June 28.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several-day stay in the ICU,” he wrote.
“Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour," Oseary informed over Instagram. Madonna’s most awaited tour has been rescheduled, as Live Nation updated on Tuesday.
“Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, a few shows noted below will be canceled,” it announced in a press release.
“Madonna, too, said that she regrets the inconvenience caused to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future,” as per People.
The singer herself gave a health update on Instagram. “Thank you again for your incredible support and patience over these past few weeks!” the pop star shared.
“I’m happy to report that the re-routed tour schedule will be coming in the next few days! See you soon for a well-deserved Celebration!! 🎉🌈🥳💘," she added.
