‘Bride and Prejudice’ star Danni Erskine dies at 28 after getting her skull crushed in horrifying car accident
AUSTRALIA: Reality TV star Dannii Erskine has died at the age of 28 after being involved in a horrific car accident. The ‘Bride and Prejudice’ star was driving back home from the shops on Friday, April 28 when she was “T-boned” by an alleged drunk driver, who struck her car, according to her sister, Dee.
"As she went through a green light, a driver was intoxicated and T-boned her," Dee told So Dramatic, adding that Erskine's "skull was crushed upon impact with the airbag." Erskine was immediately rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she was declared brain dead at 12:01 am on Saturday morning. Nearly six hours later, her life support was turned off at about 5.45 am that day, according to Daily Mail. 'She was full of life and trying her best to move on'
"She passed away the morning of April 29 at 12.01 am. She will be loved [and] very much missed... It was a horrible tragedy," Dee revealed, adding, "she was 28, full of life and trying her best to move on and meet someone. Now she won't get that chance." Erskine’s devastated family also paid her tribute by sharing a moving post on her Instagram page. 'REST IN PEACE Dannii Erskine. 1995 – 2023,' read one post on her account. '28/04 took Dannii's life to a speeding driver – an awful accident.
We appreciate and respect the wishes we have received as a family.' The post added that Erskine's social media accounts will be 'deleted in the next day'. 'Rest well, Dans. Funeral arrangements are in the process,’ read another story posted on her account. Erskine rose to fame after featuring in Channel Seven's Bride and Prejudice in 2019 with her then-fiancé, a man named Denton. During the show, the couple was hoping they could get Dannii’s mother and sister to finally approve of Denton before they walked down the aisle.
'It’s not the greatest feeling'
They considered leaving the show after Dannii’s mother and sister disapproved of them getting married. “It’s not the greatest feeling ever to hear these things, but at the same time, I don’t let it get to me,” Denton said at the time of the show, as per 7 News. “They’re just words, and it doesn’t mean we can’t mend that relationship. The next idea was just to head to Bali and elope, but this opportunity came up and we thought this process might be beneficial for not only our relationship but the whole family as well,” he continued. However, the wedding never went ahead.
