RNC 2020: Anti-Trump Hollywood celebs are 'throwing up' as speakers present dystopian view of Biden's America
The much-awaited Republican National Convention went underway on Monday, August 24, and featured speakers who presented a dark and dystopian picture of Joe Biden's America, much to the chagrin of several stars and celebrities who expressed their displeasure on social media.
Prominent Donald Trump-critics Rob Reiner, Alec Baldwin, Bette Midler, Mia Farrow, George Takei and many other celebrities slammed some of the speakers who spoke in support of the president and suggested a physical revulsion at some of the things they had heard.
As Mark and Patty McCloskey spoke at the RNC 2020, Alec Baldwin shared on Twitter: "I believe that if she has any more botox, she will need an emergency federal bailout."

"The #RNCConvention2020's claims that Donald has kept his promises is laughable," tweeted George Takei alongside a video featuring all of Trump's failed promises. "What other promises has he broken, friends? Let us count the ways."

Takei's tweet was also likely a dig at the theme for the opening day of the convention, "land of promise," and how most of the speakers did not adhere to it, but instead, used their time to paint an apocalyptic vision of what would happen to the country if the Democrats claimed victory in November. "They’ll disarm you, empty the prisons, lock you in your home and invite [notorious street gang] MS-13 to live next door," claimed Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida, before adding that Americans would be living in a "horror movie."
"Joe Biden and the radical left are also now coming for our freedom of speech and want to bully us into submission," the president's son Donald Trump Jr. had said. "If they get their way, it will no longer be the ‘silent majority’, it will be the ‘silenced majority.'"
Director Rob Reiner, who had previously suggested that Trump was "mentally unstable," tweeted that watching the convention made him want to hurl. "Is it just me or is anyone else throwing up right now?" he wrote.
"It’s been 30 seconds into the Republican Convention and I’m already throwing up into my mouth," actor Ethan Embry similarly tweeted.

Bette Midler was seemingly not pleased with Democratic lawmaker Vernon Jones' endorsement of Trump and his claim that more Black voters will vote for the Republican than Biden because the latter is "all talk and no action."
"Trump delivered zero," the actress posted. "The #GOP WILL NEVER ALLOW AFRICAN AMERICANS TO GET AHEAD."

Her fellow actors Alec Baldwin, Dave Bautista, and Mia Farrow set their sights on Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who had become viral on social media after they were pictured brandishing their guns at peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters walking by their palatial property.
The couple appeared in a pre-recorded video to defend their decision to arm themselves in front of the protesters and said they would not be backing down, just like their president. "What you saw happen to us could just as easily happen to any of you who are watching from quiet neighborhoods around our country," Patricia McCloskey said. "And that’s what we want to speak to you about tonight."
"That’s exactly right," Mark McCloskey added. "Whether it’s defunding the police, ending cash bail so criminals can be released back out on the streets the same day to riot again, or encouraging anarchy on our streets, it seems as if Democrats no longer view the government’s job as protecting honest citizens from criminals, but rather protecting criminals from honest citizens."
Baldwin attacked Patricia McCloskey, writing, "I believe that if she has any more botox, she will need an emergency federal bailout."

Bautista suggested the couple's appearance at the event had made a "mockery" of it. "OMG this shit actually happened!! Right up there with Rush Limbaugh receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Such a mockery," he posted.

"The BLM protestors were peacefully passing by. They did not threaten this hideous gun-wielding, racist pair," Mia Farrow tweeted. "The protestors were not on the McCloskey’s property but were marching lawfully down the http://street.to reach the mayor. The McCloskeys, brandishing guns, threatened unarmed peaceful protestors."
