A post full of smiles
Hoda shared pictures of her children and mother smiling on Instagram on Mother's Day. She captioned the post, “Happy Mother’s Day! Hopey and Haley — you made me what I had always dreamed of becoming — a mother. And to my mom — nothing was even possible without your love."
The first picture showed Haley smiling as Hoda held a baby Hope in her arms, while another featured the two girls after mealtime. One of the photos showed Hoda and her daughters enjoying a day at the beach and spending time with her mom. There was also a picture of all the girls blowing candles on a birthday cake. Hoda captured the best moments and gave an insight into her life with her daughters.
Difficult time
During an episode of the show, Hoda recalled that during Hope’s health issue, she had to take leave from work for a couple of weeks and if not for doctors at Weill Cornell, things would have been difficult for the family. “I'm grateful for the doctors at Weill Cornell who are amazing and the nurses and I'm grateful to my family and friends like you who were there every single day,” she said, discussing the difficult time in her life with co-host Jenna Welch Bush Hager during the live broadcast of ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’.
However, Jenna believed that she could have done a lot more for her friend. Jenna stated, “When Hoda's daughter wasn't feeling well, I just wasn't there for her the way I wanted to be. I didn't know how to be and I felt terrible about it but I didn't know what to do. So I just said it, I just said, 'I feel like I haven't been there for you.’”
Hoda comforted her co-host and said, “I still remember when you said that to me and it touched me deeply.” Jenna needed a few tissues to tend to her tears after that.
