Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler break up after more than 8 years of dating
Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler sparked romance rumors in 2011. It has been eight years since and the couple has reportedly called it quits. According to a source quoted by Us Weekly, "Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup."
The speculation about Hudgens and Butler's break up began when the two of them spent their holidays apart. Hudgens posted pictures of herself without Butler during Christmas.
Before that, she had also shared vacation pictures from when she was in Switzerland and Butler was nowhere to be seen then either. Since then, rumors about the couple's break up has been rampant.
Fans have also made a note of how neither Hudgens nor Butler has shared pictures of each other on their Instagram account in a while. The last picture that Hudgens posted of the two of them together was on October 28, 2019, on the occasion of a Halloween celebration.
She had captioned the picture, “And sit together, now and forever. For it is plain, as anyone can see. We're simply meant to be." Butler last shared a picture with Hudgens in July and this has also resulted in assumptions about the couple's breakup.
In her interview with Cosmo for January 2020's issue, Hudgens spoke about her relationship with Butler and said, "It’s eight years this year – FaceTime, good communication, respect, and trust [are what keep us going]. The longest we’ve been apart was four months. It sucks! You start hating hearing yourself say 'I miss you.' But if it’s your person, you make it work."
According to E News, Butler spoke about Hudgens at the premiere of 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and said, "It's hard for me to even put into words what that girl means to me. I am so inspired by her everyday and I just love her to my core."
