PORTIMAO, PORTUGAL: YouTube streamer IShowSpeed said that he was fined $50,000 for his latest stunt at the Rolling Loud music festival in Portugal. He was invited to perform on stage but during his act, he decided to crowd surf by leaping directly onto the audience gathered.

IShowSpeed has a history of performing daring stunts, therefore he is accustomed to facing the consequences of his actions. He had previously set off a firecracker inside his cabin in 2022, necessitating an emergency call for fire department.

Why did IShowSpeed 'pay $50K' fine?

The streamer's stunt put himself and the audience in danger, but no one was hurt. Speed's Twitter account posted a clip revealing the reason behind the fine. The tweet read, "'I had to pay a $50K fine because I did that.' Speed reveals that his stage dive at Rolling Loud in Portugal resulted in him have to pay a 50K fine."

In the video clip, Speed said, "Chat, y'all know that I had to pay a $50K fine 'cause I did that. I had to pay a $50K fine because I did that, bro. It was like, because of the Portugal Law," adding, "So, basically the Portugal Law statement said that, 'You cannot state yourself in a hypothetical statement.' So I had to pay a fine because of that."

Speed's stage jump was recorded from multiple perspectives by fans, and one of them was even released as a short clip on his YouTube page. The streamer appeared to have fallen directly to the floor from the available points of view at first. However, another angle revealed that he was caught by the audience and did not receive any injuries.

News of the streamer paying a fine spread quickly on Twitter, eliciting a variety of reactions. A user wrote, "They see that he's a dumb kid, so they manipulate him to get money out of him easily, and I bet everyone in his circle does the same."

'Death Nut Challenge'

Speed repeated the Pikachu-themed firecracker stunt in 2023, albeit under the watch of others. In another instance, the streamer jumped straight into his computer, smashing his entire setup and abruptly terminating his stream.

Speed went viral in January after attempting the 'Death Nut Challenge', a livestream featuring peanut snacks with five spiciness levels. He ate the spiciest peanuts in the package, claiming that the first level of the Death Nut Challenge had no effect on him. He felt the affects almost immediately after swallowing the entire pack of spicy nuts.
