OTTAWA, CANADA: Matthew Perry recalls going on a date with Cameron Diaz and claims that the actress punched him in the face, in his new memoir, 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,' coming out on November 1. The 'Friends' alum apparently wrote in detail about being set up with Cameron at one time, after her breakup with singer Justin Timberlake, in 2007, while writing about his affair with Julia Roberts and crush on co-star Jennifer Aniston.

In his book, Perry, 53, recalls that during their group dinner party, Diaz, 50, got "immediately stoned" and "wasn't interested in [him] at all." While they were playing a game of Pictionary, things seemed to take an odd turn when he said "something witty" to the 'Charlie's Angels' actress and she "accidentally" hit his face while going for his shoulder. As per the publications, he claims that his response was, "Are you f**king kidding me?", the Metro reports.

Matthew Perry says hospitals refused to treat him when his colon burst because of his fame

While the book mostly focuses on Perry's long-term addiction difficulties, the 'Go On' star also discusses his love life. Not only did he claim to have kissed Valerie Bertinelli in 1990 while Eddie Van Halen was sound asleep nearby, but he also gave an explanation for why he broke up with Julia Roberts in the 1990s. While they were making her guest appearance on 'Friends' at the end of 1995 and into the next year, the ex-couple dated for a short while. He admitted that dating the 'Ocean's Eleven' actress was "too much" because he kept expecting her to cut things off first, only a short time after they began dating. "Why would she not? I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unloveable," he wrote. "So instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts," Perry wrote in an excerpt published by the Times UK on Sunday, October 22. "She might have considered herself slumming it with a TV guy, and TV guy was now breaking up with her. I can’t begin to describe the look of confusion on her face."

Additionally, the 'Odd Couple' alum recalled accidentally hitting 'Saturday Night Live' veteran Chevy Chase in the balls and allegedly "beating up Canadian Prime Minister" Justin Trudeau when they were children.

At the time, the Golden Globe contender was struggling with an opiate addiction, which, he just told the New York Times, has cost him an estimated $9 million. Perry has been sober for 18 months now following two close calls with death. The 'Fools Rush In' actor revealed to People last week that his colon ruptured a few years ago, putting him in a coma for two weeks. Perry's heart stopped for five minutes during surgery when he was receiving treatment in Switzerland while his prescribed hydrocodone was combined with the anesthetic propofol. Eight ribs were shattered during the subsequent CPR.
