Serena Williams golden advice for pal Meghan Markle ahead of wedding: "Live in the moment" and "eat the cake"
With less than a month left for the royal wedding when Meghan Markle walks down the aisle at St. George's Chapel in the Windsor Castle, her close friend Serena Williams is dishing on some precious wedding advice.
The 36-year-old tennis champ is herself enjoying the early days of her married life, having tied the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans last November.
And given the fact that Williams' big day was no less than a star-studded ceremony, it doesn't come as a big surprise that her golden advice to close pal Markle is about living in the moment.
"I just think it's so important to [be fully present and] enjoy the moment," the American sports personality said, during a recent appearance on Good Morning America. Williams, who is also mother to a six-month-old daughter, clearly knows that a wedding can be quite a hectic affair.
In fact, getting all cheeky, she went on to impart one golden advice to the Suits actress: "Eat the cake!"
"I didn't get to eat mine at the wedding, because we were just having so much fun!" added Williams. While the suggestions would surely come handy to Markle as she prepares for her big day with Harry, on May 19, it would certainly be a greater help if her close friends are actually present for the ceremony in England.
On this front, Williams explains, "I don't know [if I can go]. I think it's during one of the tournaments, so I'll see if I can make it."
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing to officially welcome Markle into the royal household. If anything, well-wishers of the British royal family are expecting one grand spectacle, especially after 2,640 members of the public were invited to be a part of Harry and Markle's special day.
In addition to the common public, a number of A-listers are also expected to fill up the 800 seats at the wedding venue and these names included Obamas, Trudeaus, and some known faces from the showbiz as well.
