The show captures the decade when it all began, the 1970s. Twin brothers Vincent Martino and Frankie Martino grow to become richer and influential after starting out as mob fronts for a massage parlor.

Creator:

The show is created by George Pelecanos and David Simon who collaborated on 'The Wire' and 'Treme'. They were introduced to a man (unnamed) by an assistant locations manager of 'Treme'. The creators were told this man from New York had stories and the creators, who did not expect much to pan out from the meeting, obliged anyway.

When they met, this man who lived on 42nd street in the 70s and 80s told them his and his twin brother's story. They acted as a front for mafia's bars and massage parlors and the creators knew had something. In an interview with the New York Times, Pelecanos said, "The characters were so rich, and that’s what it all comes down to. We just said we have to do this."

Trailer:

The trailer of 'The Deuce' season 3 released August 12 and it hints at the possibility of a major change for the people who operate out of Times Square - especially brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino. There are talks of the area around Times Square being a part of a face-lift project and this could also influence if the porn industry continues to be as successful as it was in the beginning.

The ones who started off at the bottom rung of the ladder in season one almost a decade ago in 1971 have risen to the top of the rung following the summer of 1978, which is where the second season concluded and the trailer shows how luxurious and hip life has become for these characters.
