BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: 'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans' son Jace Evans was being sought by the police after being declared a runaway. 

The runaway alert was issued by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department. The 14-year-old was spotted departing from school around 2.45 pm on Tuesday, August 15, dressed in a gray sweatshirt displaying the text "Classical Charter Schools of America."

Has Jace Evans been found?

Jace has now been located. The mother and son have been reunited after the teen ran away from their North Carolina residence earlier in the day. This information was verified by Jenelle's manager August Keen in a statement given to Us Weekly.

"Jace has been found, and is safely at home with Jenelle and his family," Keen said in the statement. "Thank you to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department and to everyone else for their concerns."

Why did Jace Evans run away?

"As a boy mom, kids can act up and rebel as I'm sure the majority of us all once did as kids too," Jenelle said in the statement provided by Keen.

"Jace got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that's when he decided to run off. Jace is a good kid, and we're not dealing with anything that most families don't deal with while raising children," it added.

Jenelle also took the opportunity to provide clear information, emphasizing that the incident is unrelated to her relationship with her husband, David Eason. 

"This has absolutely nothing to do with my situation with David, we do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids," Jenelle said. "This is a teenage boy being a teenager mad that we decided to take his phone away."
