Alexandra Vino, who was rumoured to be Harvey Weinstein's girlfriend, has lashed out at the "excessive" prison sentence given out to the disgraced Hollywood mogul. The 30-year-old actress took to Instagram to share that Weinstein was just a "womanizer".

She wrote, "Am I the only one who believes the 23 years is massively excessive? Justice for women, yes. As a woman I understand why they are angry, but one man to take the fall for every man. Womanizing and mass murder are now in the same category.”

Following this, she also ran a poll asking her followers if they thought the sentence was "fair" or "excessive". Vino was also spotted at the Bellevue Hospital earlier this month when Weinstein was admitted there after his conviction.

According to a report in The Sun, Vino and Weinstein were linked in November 2019 and speculations about their relationship grew after they were spotted acting like couples at different events.

Vino had also shared a series cryptic posts on Instagram including one of a picture of what looked like an engagement ring. She said that she had experienced the most loving six months of her life. She had added, "A person in 2 months can make you feel what a person in 2 years couldn’t.”

At that time Weinstein's spokesperson had denied any knowledge of the embattled producer of giving Vino a ring. Vino and Weinstein had also denied being in a relationship and said that they were just friends.

However, reports surfaced about the two of them being together in hotel room in New Jersey and bingeing on ice cream before the start of Weinstein’s rape trial.

They had reportedly also “stunk up their no-smoking room with marijuana”, which the two denied.

Weinstein was sentenced to 20 years in prison for forcibly performing oral sex on his production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006, and three years for the third-degree rape of Jessica Mann in 2013. Weinstein will not be eligible for parole for 20 years.
