Japanese star Haruma Miura, 30, found dead in apparent suicide, teary-eyed fans say his 'smile' will be missed

The 30-year-old actor was found dead at his home and the reason behind his death is still unclear

Japanese actor Haruma Miura was found dead at his Tokyo home on Saturday, July 18. According to The Japan Times, the 30-year-old was actor found unresponsive at his home in Minato Ward in the afternoon. He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead, sources confirmed. It was supposedly death by suicide, according to the Metropolitan Police Department of Tokyo.

He was represented by the agency Amuse Inc and made his acting debut in NHK drama 'Agri' at the age of seven. Later he was seen in prominent roles in films such as 'Koizora' (2007) and 'Kimi ni Todoke' (2010). According to sources, he was supposed to be working today. As of now, the reason behind his decision is not clear.

His fans were shocked and mourned his death on Twitter. "Remembering Miura Haruma. IMHO his best performance is in 'Boku no Ita Jikan' as an ALS patient. His sorrow as his body slowly numbed and unresponsive, and Tabe Mikako's undying support of him is really touching I recommend this to remember this brilliant young actor," wrote one user.

Another user wrote: "I can't stop my tears. This is so sudden. Sobrang Di Ko Kaya. Miura may you rest in peace. I will miss you." A fan expressed her grief by tweeting, "Japan entertainment and Jfans literally lost one of the best actor and the brightest smile ever." Another fan wrote, "Miura Haruma was one of the reasons why I became a J-Ent/Jdrama stan - because of his movie Kimi ni Todoke. The news is so sudden and I can't control my emotions right now." Some expressed their disbelief, "Miura Haruma is trending in Japan. Saying he died. Wtf. Please tell me that I am wrong." Another said, "Miura Haruma... this is so sudden and shocking."

A few even took this opportunity to talk about taking care of people's mental health. One user said, "Although we don't know the reason why Miura Haruma commited suicide yet. I want to take this opportunity to say to everyone to please take care of themselves. Your physical and mental health is of utmost importance, especially right now.Please reach out if you need to talk."

In February 2009, he received the newcomer award in the 2009 Elan d'Or Awards. Miura starred in 'Crows Zero II', which is the sequel to 'Crows Zero' and was reunited with actor Shun Oguri whom he had previously worked with in 'Binbō Danshi'. In the 'Gokusen' movie, Miura reprised his role as Ren Kazama. From June to July of 2009, Miura starred in his first stage production titled 'Hoshi no Daichi ni Furu Namida'. He graduated from Horikoshi High School in Nakano. Reportedly, from 2016 until November 2017, Miura dated choreographer Koharu Sugawara. A few weeks back, Billboard website had announced the actor is going to drop his second single 'Night Driver' on August 26.
