Harry's relationship with Charles is complex, will take time to resolve: 'There's real lack of trust'
Despite patching things up with his elder brother, Prince William, following Megxit, it was recently reported that Harry was still feuding with his father, Prince Charles.
It was earlier reported that no other member of the royal family was more disappointed by Megxit than the future king of England. As a result, royal insiders predict that it will still take some time for the 71-year-old to come to terms with his youngest son's decision that has changed the course of British history forever.
“It’s fair to say that the past week has brought William and Harry back together but the relationship with Charles and Camilla is far more complicated and complex. There remains a real lack of trust there and it’s going to take some time to resolve," an insider told the Sun.
The same tipster said that while there was a lot of hurt between the royal brothers after Harry and Meghan announced their decision to quit the monarchy in January — the royal palace even having to issue a joint statement denying reports of William allegedly bullying the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex — things are cooling down and the brothers are working things out between them before the two ended up in different continents.
“William and Harry have spent time together privately away from the official Sandringham Summit working on their relationship and discussing their future. It has been ground-breaking in terms of saving their bond as brothers and has been totally driven by them. But Kate and Meghan, who was in Canada, did join in with some of the talks on more than one occasion — which is another sign of a real thaw in their relationship. Things are better," the insider added.
The source also dished the way the brothers achieved an understanding between them.
“They decided to cut out all the toxic people stirring around them to deal with each other man-to-man as brothers. Given Harry is now permanently moving away, there was a realization if they didn’t sort things out now, they never would. Of course, there have been serious differences in opinions but the family warmth is back. And they’re sad they’re going to be so far apart," the insider said.
