Hamlin fully supported Lisa Rinna's decision to exit 'RHOBH'
"(It was the) correct decision, the right decision to make at this point after eight years. I think she took it as far as she could take it, and she elevated the show," Hamlin told People at Palm Springs International Film Festival in early January. The reality star's husband went on to say that it's time for his wife to "move on." Hamlin added, "Eight years is a long time to do anything, the same thing over and over again. It's time to move along."
He further talked about the various projects the duo will be working on. "We're both very busy. I've got ('80 for Brady') and 'Mayfair Witches' coming out, and then she's already talking to studios about getting going on something else, so I think we're going to be really busy over the next few months."
Speaking to E! News about Rinna's journey on 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills', Hamlin feels that his wife left the show at the right time. "I think Lisa has come out of it really well after eight years," he exclusively told co-hosts Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester while appearing on the January 26 episode of E! News. "I think from a branding perspective, it doesn't get any better than that. All the negative stuff that's out there will burn off eventually."
'I was gonna get a divorce'
Hamlin further confessed that he was "gonna get a divorce" at the news of Rinna joining the show back in 2013. "I was gonna get a divorce," Hamlin, who married Rinna in 1997, said. "I said, 'Everybody who does that show, they all get divorced, so why don't I just get ahead of the game.' I actually said, 'I have my divorce lawyer on speed dial,' which is true, but I haven't used it in many, many years." However, the 'LA Law' alum soon had a change of mind after speaking to a few pals who have also been on the show. "I talked to some of her friends who'd been on the show," he said, "and they convinced me that it was a really good idea branding-wise."
