Harrison Ford 'confronted' Anne Heche over rumors about Ellen DeGeneres and her having a child together
Anne Heche’s upcoming memoir, which focuses largely on her short-lived relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, is set to reveal a surprising incident where actor Harrison Ford “confronted” her regarding a rumor about the former couple. Heche’s posthumous memoir, titled ‘Call Me Anne’, is scheduled to release on January 24 and throws light extensively on her relationships as she was reaching the heights of popularity in Hollywood in the 1990s.
After Heche and DeGeneres officially started dating in 1997, the late actress was allegedly confronted by both Ford and movie director Ivan Reitman on the set of the 1998 adventure comedy ‘Six Days, Seven Nights’ over rumors about the former lovers having a child together. “Our 'pregnancy' was everywhere,” Heche writes in 'Call Me Anne', as per RadarOnline. “[Ford and Reitman] showed me this as proof of why this openness about my relationship was becoming a pain in the a** for them.” She recalled the incident in her writing, "Why, Ivan asked me, can't I just be like Jodie Foster? (I didn't know what that meant. ‘Everybody knows it,’ he explained, ‘it’ being her sexuality. ‘She just doesn't talk about it.')”

While Heche was clearly surprised by Ford’s statements, she later forgave the Indiana Jones actor over the incident and, in fact, called him her “on-set mentor” in a blurb for the posthumous memoir.
During an interview in 2020, Heche shared insights about her professional relationship with Ford and how the actor played a huge part in securing her role in 'Six Days, Seven Nights'. “I would not have gotten that movie,” Heche writes, as per the outlet. “He called me the day after they said I wasn't gonna get it, because I took Ellen to the [Volcano] premiere, and Harrison Ford, he was a hero.” She continued, “He said, ‘Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn who you're sleeping with. We're gonna make the best romantic comedy there is, and I'll see ya on the set.’”.
The late actress also revealed that DeGeneres was the “first and only woman that I ever fell in love with,” in her memoir. Heche writes that she was “mesmerized” by the talk show host’s frankness regarding her sexuality.
The posthumous memoir is set to release five months after the death of the 53-year-old actress on August 11, following a fatal car crash nine days earlier in Los Angeles. “This is a sad day,” DeGeneres wrote following her death. “I'm sending Anne's children, family and friend all of my love.”
