Halle Berry helping 'skinny' Angelina Jolie gain some muscle ahead of duo's action flick 'Maude v Maude'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie are both remembered for their memorable roles in action movies, be it 'Salt' or 'Die Another Day'. The two will reportedly team up for an upcoming action thriller for the first time. On April 18, Deadline confirmed that the Oscar-winning duo will star in 'Maude v Maude', reportedly touted to be a "Bond v Bourne type" movie.
However, there seems to be a problem. Sources told Radar Online Jolie was not ready for the role. They said, "She’s skin and bones! She knows she needs to put on muscle and this is the motivator to finally do it. With everything else going on in her life she hasn’t been able to make her health a priority — but now that her work requires it, she’s out of excuses."
Halle Berry helping Angelina Jolie bulk up
According to the outlet, Jolie was relying on Berry to turn her into a lean, mean, fighting machine. Sources said, "Angelina can’t stop talking about Halle’s muscles. She wants some of what Halle’s got, and Halle has agreed to help make it happen.”
Berry, who follows a strict ketogenic diet, believes she can help Jolie gain weight. Sources told the outlet, "Halle’s a fanatic when it comes to food. She’s paleo and always trying to convert people, so she was thrilled when Angelina asked for her guidance," adding, “She’s got Angie drinking bone broth, loading up on health fats and lifting weights. Angelina is currently weak and out of shape, but she's determined to kick b*** with Halle's assistance."
When 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' was filmed in 2001, Jolie was fit and healthy. Sources said she needed to gain 15lbs of muscle to attain that level of fitness once again. "She knows it won't be easy after more than two decades. She's no longer in her 20s, but she's willing to do whatever it takes," sources said.
'Maude v Maude' sparks bidding war
Multiple studios wanted to get their hands on 'Maude v Maude', sparking an intense bidding war last week. Eventually, Warner Bros acquired the rights to the movie. The frenzy surrounding the upcoming action flick echoes the excitement generated by the untitled body-swap comedy directed by Max Barbakow and starring Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, announced in January.
Specific plot details have not been revealed. The movie will be directed by Roseanne Liang with a screenplay written by Scott Mosier. Berry and Jolie are producing the movie as well.
