The groom has been arrested after the victim's family filed a police complaint.

The unfortunate guest was Madheshia's friend - 35-year-old Yadav. Onlookers began screaming and crying in shock. Though Yadav was rushed to a hospital immediately, he reportedly succumbed to his wounds, Jam Press reported. He was a member of the Indian Army, and had been granted special permission to travel across the country and attend his friend's wedding.
Madheshia has been arrested for the death of his friend, as claimed by the cops. Authorities have also seized the weapon, which Yadav had himself gifted the groom.
Twitter users had much to say on the unfortunate incident. One said, "The most important thing we were taught in Sea Cadet Corps was never aim the gun at anyone, even if it is empty. Also using fire arm should be banned."
Another said, "RIP jawan it was an accident but he will face the punishment because it was a childish thing that he presta tiger and dint wait for some time and started reloading the gun.. " One user said, "Strictly Ban this type of firing in any occasion. Also punish those who encourage. Deep condolence to family of murdered Jawan."
Explaining a possibility, one tweet said, "He tried to shoot up but gun got fired only when it was down. It is a mechanical error in the gun but tje shooter will be punished as per law." Asking what seemed like a logical question, one user said, "Are we competing with American gun culture? Gun culture should be ban... RIP Jawan "

It's to be noted that such firing in public events including at weddings, even with licensed weapons, is illegal in India.
