'Addicted to Marriage': Monette's 11 failed marriages have shocked fans asking 'how'

Albert Einstein once said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." This couldn't be truer when it comes to the women featured on TLC's new show 'Addicted to Marriage'. The show revolves around four women and their obsession with being married. One would think that after 11 eleven unsuccessful marriages a person would completely wrote off the idea of ever getting married again, but that's not the case with Monette.

Monette is one of the four women featured on the show who has managed to grab the maximum attention from fans thanks to her whopping eleven marriages! The 53-year-old explained how growing up she always believed that she needed to be with a partner in order to be happy. This led to a long-string of failed marriages, that both her daughter and sister find it hard to keep a tab on. Monette's daughter revealed that she maintained a journal to keep a record of all step-fathers and the various places they had to move in order to accommodate the many men in Monette's life.

Monette explained on the show how she first got married to her high-school sweetheart, but that ended shortly. She also shared how she falls hard and fast in love and never gets into a marriage thinking it would end in divorce. The ever-optimistic Monette revealed that she would always be a hopeless romantic who loves being in love and will die trying to find her perfect partner. It looks like Monette may not have to wait too long for wedding bells to ring for her for the 12th time, as she already found herself a new man- John.

John said in his confessional how he initially found it a bit bizarre that his girlfriend was married a whopping 11 times, but he claims to be over it and is looking forward to seeing what's in store for them next. After watching Monette and her boyfriend John, fans began questioning how someone could get 11 men to marry them. A fan tweeted, "#AddictedToMarriage married 11 times? How’s that legal @TLC." Another fan shared, "This #addictedtomarriage show is wild. Aint no way Im marrying someone thats been married 11 times.." "I’m fascinated by this show on TLC #AddictedToMarriage - this one woman has been married 11 times. She says as a former Mormon, there was no sex outside of marriage sooo….and these others folks are equally as fascinating ," expressed a fan. Another fan echoed similar thoughts with, "So this woman married 9 men essentially because they wanted to Smash...Mormon no sex outside of marriage, so this was her solution 11 marriages.#Addictedtomarriage."
