LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the race of delivering whack concept cinema, Amazon Prime Video is a step ahead of all the streaming platforms. With its new project 'Grand Death Lotto', which stars Simu Liu and Awkwafina, the duo from 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' alongside our 'Peacemaker' star John Cena in the lead. The movie is directed by Paul Feig, who is best known for creating 'Freaks and Geeks' and directing classic comedy movies 'Bridesmaids', 'The Heat' and 'A Simple Favor.'

The upcoming action-comedy was announced earlier this month and just a few weeks later production began for John Cena and Awkwafina starrer 'Grand Death Lotto'. The first look into the sets of the action-comedy movie was revealed by Prime Video on their official Twitter account. The picture revealed Director Paul Feig along with Awkwafina and John Cena striking the 'Bond pose' with toy guns.

'First week with AwkwaCENA'

The first image shows Cena, Awkwafina, and Feig striking a spy pose with wacky toy guns captioned with a perfect nickname for the two stars, "AwkwaCENA." was shared by Prime Video on their official Twitter account, "First week with AwkwaCENA. #GrandDeathLottoMovie." Simu Liu was absent from this spy-posing shenanigan and didn't make it to the first look image.

What is 'Grand Death Lotto' about?

The movie is set in the near future of economically challenged California, where a lottery system has been established, but with a catch. The twist is that if the winner of the lottery is killed by sundown, the killer can claim the prize and become the winner. The plot will follow Awkwafina's character Katie who has won the lottery and thus has an active target on her back. Katie is chased by Simu Liu's Louis who wants to take away the prize money, but the fun starts when Katie hires an amateur jackpot protector, played by John Cena's character Noel. Katie is in for a big chase if she wants to make it to sundown alive with her multi-billion lottery. The movie has an amazing cast that generates natural chemistry while tickling the funny bones. Paul Feig is also the movie's producer under his Feigco Entertainment banner with Laura Fischer along with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum of Roth/Kirschenbaum Films. No release date has been set for 'Grand Death Lotto'. Watch out for this space for more details.
