Grace Jones, 70, rocked a shimmering gold bodysuit and paired it with a metallic jacket at Tommy Hilfiger and Zendaya's show at Paris Fashion Week
Musician Grace Jones stole the show in a gold bodysuit paired with a rainbow jacket at the Tommy Hilfiger X Zendaya show at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday.
Jones was a model in the '70s before she started dabbling in music. Her return to the catwalk was nothing less than a celebration. Winnie Harlow, the Canadian model, and Jourdan Dunn, an English model-actor, also walked the ramp for the show.
The outfit and the thigh-high wine red leather boots showed off Grace's stunning physique at the age of 70. She walked the ramp with passion and won the hearts of the audience at the show. The singer closed the show and joined designer Zendaya for a boogie at the end.
Grace's makeup added more drama to her overall look. She sported a black smoky-eye look with a touch of light foundation and a lip colour that would remind you of crushed cranberriess. Right before Jones appeared on the ramp, designer Zendaya announced that her line was an 'ode to female empowerment', according to Daily Mail. Grace then appeared on the ramp dancing to the song 'Pull Up to the Bumper'.
Speaking to Vogue about the collaboration, Zendaya had said, "The most important thing to me is that these clothes feel timeless, and whoever puts it on feels powerful and confident."
The other celebrities who walked the ramp for Zendaya included 68-year-old model Pat Cleveland, Alexander Mcqueen regular Debra Shaw, supermodels Veronica Webb and Beverly Peele, Chrystele Saint Louis Augustin, Grace Bol, Tami Williams and Halima Hayden.
The show saw black women of all ages come together for an exciting line of clothes. The casting of models was heartwarming with much-needed inclusivity on the ramp for women of all kinds.
When the collaboration was announced, the brand had released a press statement in which they stated that the collection would pay homage to the historic fashion moment — The Battle of Versailles. This was a charity event held in 1973 that pitted French designers against Americans in a cultural battle of sorts.

The US team won the battle because they had casted a record number of black models in the show and made history. This served as a point of reference for the team in their planning stage.
The press release said the show would herald both 'the Battle of Versailles fashion show that took place during that era' and 'the powerful statement made by the American models who took to the catwalk'.
