GOT7 members leave JYPE Entertainment: Youngjae to Mark Tuan, here’s what all seven members will do next
All GOT7 members are reportedly leaving JYP Entertainment after their exclusive contract ends in January. One of the most popular K-Pop groups, GOT7 consists of JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom.
The group has reportedly been in talks with multiple entertainment agencies to plan their next career move and it has been confirmed with an official statement. "We wished for a newer future and decided not to proceed with the renewal of the contract under the agreement," the agency reportedly said, according to Naver.

Here's the official statement: "JYP held an in-depth discussion with the members ahead of the expiration of their exclusive contract with their artist GOT7 on January 19. As a result, both sides decided not to proceed with the renewal of the contract under an agreement, wishing for a newer future. GOT7 has been active as a global idol group representing K-pop for 7 years since its debut on January 16, 2014."
The statement continued: "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all fans, including GOT7 for the growth of K-pop and JYP, and 'I GOT7', who has been the driving force behind GOT7's activities with their generous support with their debut. Although the official relationship is over, JYP will sincerely support the new future for the GOT7 members."
GOT7 will stay together as 7
Here’s what the global K-pop sensations will do next, according to multiple Korean media reports. Mark Tuan, the Korean-American K-pop star of GOT7 alluded in a recent Twitter post saying, no matter what, the GOT7 members will stay together as 7.
Tuan, on January 10, took to Twitter to assure fans that GOT7 will stay together as 7. The 27-year-old K-pop vocalist posted, "The past 7 years have been the best years of my life. Nothing is coming to an end, just the beginning. The seven of us are going to continue to bring you guys the best version of us till the end."

Why are all GOT7 members leaving JYPE Entertainment?
All GOT7 members are reportedly leaving JYPE, Dispatch reported. As GOT7 under JYP Entertainment, the Golden Disc Awards 2021 will be their last group activity together.
A close representative of the agency stated, "GOT7 has a close relationship. We gathered opinions about the members being together. But opinions diverged in the decision of the agency. After several meetings with the company, we decided to split." JYPE told another news agency, "It is difficult to confirm the matters each member is in contact with. Our position regarding the renewal of GOT7 will be announced as soon as it is arranged."
Here’s what GOT7 members will do after leaving JYPE
Although not officially announced, there are numerous reports on all the members' plans about what they will do next after officially leaving JYPE.
Jinyoung
Reports first came in about Jinyoung reportedly signing an exclusive contract with acting agency BH Entertainment after leaving JYP. Jinyoung has already had quite a few iconic K-drama acting roles including his critically acclaimed and award-winning lead in ‘He Is Psychometric’ (2019), followed by the hit South Korean TV show ‘When My Love Blooms’ (2020). Yugyeom
Yugyeom is likely to be joining Jay Park’s Hip-hop based label AOMG next. He officially made his debut with JYP’s GOT7 in 2014. The 23-year-old singer, songwriter, dancer and composer has contributed to a number of hit Kpop tracks for GOT7. Some of his solo works include ‘Dandelion’, ‘Happiness and Gratitude’, ‘Used to blame’ and ‘Don’t Think’. Youngjae
According to the latest reports, Youngjae may sign up with Sublime artist agency next. He joined JYPE on January 16, 2014, as the main vocalist of GOT7. Along with a vast discography of GOT7, he has also collaborated on original soundtracks of various K-dramas including ‘Fall in Love’ for Jinyoung’s ‘When My Love Blooms’.
Though there isn’t official confirmation on what the other members will do next, according to Twitter reports, Tuan may go back to Los Angeles to continue his singing career. JB will likely join a Hip-hop label agency, Jackson Wang will continue his solo brand Team Wang and Bambam will continue working in South Korea and Thailand simultaneously.
What are fans saying: ‘7 or nothing’
GOT7 fans are certain that even if the K-pop group discontinues their contract with JYPE, they will always stay together as 7. After the reports of all GOT7 members leaving JYPE surfaced, GOT7 fans started trending "7 or nothing". On Tuan’s post about 7 members, a fan commented, “Thank u so much for the seven years of joy and laughter, im looking forward for all of your next steps after closing this chapter in your lives. i love u!” Another said, “This is so bittersweet. I couldn't be happier that they got their freedom but I can't help but cry. I trust them completely. It always has been and always will be 7 or nothing. Got7 left JYPE and not Ahgases. GOT7 released their last studio album ‘Breath of Love: Last Piece’ on November 30. JYPE was majorly slammed prior to the album’s release citing lack of promotion for the group. A pre-release single ‘Breath’ was released before the album.
