Gordon kicked off his Texas exploration by herding cattle and riding on a horse. At the end of which he got to sample some tasty beef. He decided that the beef would be the starter dish of his cookoff and then proceeded to learn more about another favorite of Texans, diamondback rattlesnake. With a blind man as his guide, Gordon truly risked it all for a rattlesnake dish. He captured the venomous reptile and proceeded to cook it the local way by skinning the snake and then placing it inside the cactus to cook it rotisserie style. Gordon is no stranger to eating some bizarre meats, so it came as no surprise to watch the celebrity chef relishing the snake.

Gordon had to decide on what the main course would be for the cookoff. So he decided to go with the local favorite- pork. Finally during the cookoff, both the chefs put their best foot forward and cooked their hearts out. The locals who helped teach Gordon about Texas cuisine were the judges. After sampling both the chefs' dishes, they declared Justin as the winner as his food had more Texas flavor.
