Gordon Ramsay's neighbors have threatened to report him to the police for flouting the government rules amidst the lockdown and moving into his second $5.47 million home for isolation.

The television personality, 53, moved his family -- wife Tana, 45, daughter Megan, 22, twins Jack and Holly, 20, daughter Matilda, 18, and baby Oscar, to their home in the Polzeath Beach area of Cornwall from London as the UK fought the coronavirus pandemic.

However, some residents of the area have been angered by his appearance and feel that he has put them deliberately at risk by possibly bringing the virus to them from the nation's capital. "Don't you realize that by doing that you've possibly brought the virus with you and because Cornwall is not your main residence, if you and your family get sick you will place yet more strain on an already fragile infrastructure," one user wrote on social media.

"I'm reporting you to the police. What you've done is against the law and I hope they force you back to London," a second posted.

"Good to hear that Gordon Ramsay too doesn't think the rules apply to him, and has apparently moved himself and his family to his luxury second home in Cornwall. Makes you wonder why the police is not doing anything," another commented.

Ramsay is certainly aware of the negative reaction he has inspired by his move and recently took to Instagram to make a dig at some of the locals by praising his neighbor, who had delivered a fresh batch of asparagus to his doorstep with a hand-written note that read, "A little gift from the fields across your house."

"Now what a lovely, beautiful, generous little gift," he said. "C'mon, seriously, that's literally growing in the back of my garden. Now that's what I call love thy neighbor, see?  That's how you look after each other across these difficult times. There you go."

While certain members of parliament, like North Devon MP Selaine Saxby, had raised concerns about people sneaking to their other properties to get away from the pandemic and risking spreading the disease, it was not illegal to do so before the lockdown was enforced.

In the meantime,  many pointed out, Ramsay had not broken any rules because he had moved to the home before the start of the lockdown. "Gordon Ramsay is being attacked for self-isolating at his second home in Cornwall, even though he's been there before lockdown. Tbh, I'm finding the "how dare you come to my land!" brigade as bad as the "I saw you at the park" spies," one tweeted.

"@GordonRamsay For the record, being a proud Cornishman I am happy and pleased that you are in Cornwall with us during this Lockdown. When this is over I for one will happily buy you a beer sir, hopefully in exchange for some cooking tips," another wrote.

A friend of the chef's family told the Mail that Ramsay viewed the Cornwall residence as a "family home" where they can all spend some quality time together.

"They've been spending time there for 10 years and Jack actually lives in the house there full time too. Most of their neighbors are so welcoming and they love being part of the community," the source said.

"They've been following the government advice along with the rest of the country since they arrived on March 20th and the campaign against them is hurtful and unnecessary at a time when we should all be coming together and supporting each other."
