Goldie Hawn gushes over 'angel' Kurt Russell on Father’s Day: ‘Nobody loves like him’
On the occasion of Father’s day on Sunday, June 21, Goldie Hawn shared a heartfelt message for her longtime partner, Kurt Russell, in an Instagram post. The 74-year-old posted a picture of herself with Russell and captioned it beautifully by writing: “Nobody laughs like him and nobody loves like him ❤️ Happy Father’s Day to you my angel 😇 .”
Hawn and 69-year-old Russell have been together since 1983, and both of them have children from their previous marriages, whom they have raised in a blended family ever since they started dating. Hawn shares a daughter, actress Kate Hudson, and a son Oliver Hudson, with her ex-husband Bill Hudson. While Russell has a son, Boston Russell, whom he shares with his ex Season Hubley. Hawn and Russell also have a son together, Wyatt Russell, who was born three years after they got together.
The Oscar-winner told PEOPLE in April that her longtime love, Russell, with whom she is in a relationship for more than three decades always makes her feel beautiful. “The other night we were going to go have dinner. He looks at me and goes, ‘You’re unbelievable,'” Hawn said. “‘He said I cannot believe how (beautiful) you look.’ He really appreciates that.”
Kate also appreciates her parents’ strong bond as she said at the time, “You and Pa have been together for so long and sometimes I look at it and I’m like, How do you guys do it?' I’m still working on that.” The 41-year-old also said that living up to her parents’ relationship “is really the goal”. “Just the fact that they’ve been able to maintain a unit for all of us, in times of turmoil, they really are the center of all of our lives,” Kate added.
The two “complement each other so well,” mentioned Kate. “Mom is kinetic and she is a butterfly. And Pa likes his family and his home. But when they’re together, it’s so powerful.”
However, it was not just Hawn who was dedicating a father’s day post to Russell. Oliver also posted a sweet message for his step-father on the social media platform. He shared a series of photographs on his Instagram page on Sunday. The first picture was an old family photo of Hawn, Russell, and the children. The second picture was also a throwback picture of him with sister Kate and his biological father.
The caption of the post read: “Mr. Russell, AKA PA.. you swooped in and completed our family. I was 6.. fearful and uncertain, and you taught me confidence and independence... ❤️” as the 43-year-old added notes for his biological father and for his father-in-law: “Mr Hudson, AKA DAD.. you gave me life, you gave me humor, you gave me the ocean, you gave me depth... ❤️Mr Bartlett, AKA FATHER-IN-LAW.. you gave me a limo, a 6 pack of Miller Lite and a joint the first night I met you... ❤️ HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!! #mythreedads.”
While Kate’s Instagram post on the occasion of father’s day was sweet and simple as she wrote: “I love him to pieces ❤️ Happy Fathers Day to our Pa ❤️”
