LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Crown' and 'Sex Education' star Gillian Anderson arrived at the 2024 Golden Globes in a gown that was criticized by social media users.

Designed by Gabriella Hearst, Gillian sported an ivory-colored strapless gown, which featured an A-line silhouette. The actress paired her cheeky look with a sparkling diamond necklace, which featured an opulent pink gem in the center.

She also donned a pair of matching dangling earrings that elevated her look along with her slicked-back hair. Gillian finished her look with a circular maroon handbag.

However, Gillian's gown notably featured a subtle lighter cream color embroidery of vaginas. Meanwhile, in a red-carpet interview with Deadline, Gillian reflected on why she chose a dress featuring female anatomy.

She shared, "Oh, for so many reasons... it's brand appropriate." Gillian caused chaos on social media as she was slammed over her 2024 Golden Globes outfit choice.

An X user tweeted, "She is a goddess, of course, but does this dress have...an unfinished, ragged hem? also a bit too 'bright white' for her pale complexion...but Gillian, we adore you anyway!

Another person added, "The vag dress, hello 2024. My lips are sealed?" Another critic noted, "Gross."

Another social media user commented, "LOL is anyone actually checking out the dress patterns?"

Another harsh internet user said, "I guess she doesn't know that blue states allow abortions. That means no restrictions," referring to the fact that the Golden Globes were held in California.

The same person added, "An award show is no place f a celebrity to spout their opinions. Go, collect (or not) your award, thank ur ppl/God & get off the stage. This is why these shows have crappy ratings."

Gillian Anderson celebrates wellness brand G Spot

Gillian Anderson recently hosted the G Spot x Wellbeing of Women's event titled Art of Pleasure at Soho Revue Gallery. The event celebrated Gillian's wellness brand G Spot and its newly founded partnership with Wellbeing of Women.

Wellbeing of Women is a health charity focused on improving women's gynecological and reproductive health through research, education, and advocacy.

Gillian explained to her guests how she developed G Spot as "a new and unconventional way of framing the wellness industry that was about self-expression and not shame."

She further noted that one of the main purposes of the brand is to encourage pleasure, stating, "Imagine if women could take the time to actually priortize their needs, how different the world would look – there would be more energy, more inspiration, more positivity and more capacity to pass that on and be of service to others," per Daily Mail.

Gillian Anderson opts for comfort over glam

'Sex Education' star Gillian Anderson reflected on her comfy clothing style in a previous Instagram Live Q&A in 2021. During the session, Gillian openly revealed that she ditched her bra, noting, "I don't wear a bra anymore. I don't wear a bra. I can't wear a bra. I can't, no. I can't."

She added, "I'm sorry, but I don't care if I reach my belly button, my breasts reach my belly button. I'm not wearing a bra anymore. It's just too f**king uncomfortable."

Gillian was asked about her go-to wear clothing of choice and noted that she would wear "comfortable" black track pants and a black hoodie "every day" if she could, per People.
