‘GMA’ star Robin Roberts shines in red as she honors her father's legacy on special night with sisters and wife Amber Laign
EW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ star Robin Roberts recently celebrated her father’s legacy by honoring him on a special night at the World War II museum in New Orleans.
The 62-year-old was joined by her two sisters — Sally Ann and Dorothy — and her wife Amber Laign.
The four women put on their best looks for the night, with Roberts especially standing out with her red dress.
Roberts’ father Lawrence E Roberts was a pilot with the Tuskegee Airmen and a colonel in the United States Air Force, with 32 years of total military service.

‘GMA’ star Robin Roberts honors father for distinguished military service
The ‘GMA’ star took to Instagram to share a glimpse of herself with her sisters and Laign on the night of the World War II museum event.
The four women stood outside the museum as they posed for a snap together.
In the snap, Roberts’s wife was spotted in a grey dress, while her sisters wore black and blue, respectively.
But the ‘GMA’ host stood out in sizzling red as she stood tall, beaming for the cameras.
Later, Roberts revealed the only reason for wearing the collar ‘red’ on the night in the caption of the photo.

She wrote, “Oh what a night! Sweet Amber & I were thrilled that my dear sisters Sally-Ann and Dorothy could join us for a special night at the @wwiimuseum in #neworleans.”
Roberts added, “I wore red in honor of our beloved father, Col. Lawrence E Roberts, a proud member of the Tuskegee Airmen. #redtails (with a heart and praying emoji)."
Fans couldn’t get enough of Roberts’ look and went gaga over her. One exclaimed, “Absolutely gorgeous!! Have fun!! Love you, Robin!!!!”
A second said, “Awesome! Beautiful Ladies. What an honor that your Dad was a Redtail... Love to watch the stories of these men.”
Another complimented both Roberts and Laign. “Well don’t you look beautiful Mrs & Mrs.” "Beautiful Queens,” wrote another.
Who were Robin Roberts' parents?
The ‘GMA’ star was born to Tuskegee Airmen Lawrence E Roberts and Lucimarian N Roberts, a social worker.
Her father Lawrence Roberts was a Colonel in the United States Air Force and a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen.
Her mother Lucimarian was a social worker, educator, and Chairperson of the Mississippi Board of Education.
Lawrence Roberts died in 2004, while Lucimarian breathed her last in 2012.
Roberts’ mother made many appearances on her daughter’s show and collaborated with her on a book titled 'My Story, My Song: Mother-Daughter Reflections on Life and Faith'.
