'GMA’s Sam Champion asks fans to not ‘be afraid’ in throwback ‘DWTS’ snap, they reply, ‘Needed that today’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'GMA' weatherman Sam Champion is a man of many tastes and seasons. Apart from being a successful meteorologist, Sam is an avid traveler, a climate change activist, a loyal supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, and also a dancer.
The 61-year-old once participated in the hit dance reality show, ‘Dancing with the Stars’, in Season 31 and performed with model and TV host Cheryl Burke. Although he was eliminated in week four, the memories and lessons from the show have stayed with Sam.
In a recent throwback post on Instagram, Sam elucidated the learnings from participating in the reality show and urged his fans and followers to “not be afraid of anything” and take “challenges” as an opportunity.

The ABC meteorologist shared a major throwback snap of him participating in the famed show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ with Cheryl Burke. Sam survived for three weeks impressing the judges with his grit and determination to put his best foot forward.
Despite a disappointing expulsion from the show, Sam enjoyed his participation in the show. Reflecting upon his performance last year in the dance reality show, Sam took to Instagram and shared a snap of him dancing with a smile on his face with his partner Cheryl.
He captioned the post, “Dancing lessons learned… don’t be afraid of anything, take even the scariest challenge as an opportunity to grow.”

The ABC weatherman reminisced about his time but also imparted a few pearls of wisdom learned from his adventure, with the most important one being not afraid to take up any challenge as an opportunity. His fans were standing watch and complimented his determination to compete and look at the positive side of things.

Fans took into consideration Sam’s words of wisdom and thanked him for sharing this beautiful throwback moment with them. One fan praised his fearless approach and wrote, “You’re so my style!! #nofear”, while a second wrote, “You Sam. did a great job couldn't do better”
