GMA’s Robin Roberts ditches morning show once again as she hosts charity event with Hollywood star
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Good Morning America' star Robin Roberts is the ultimate fan favorite on the morning show. Fans of the show keep track of her activities on social media and follow her bits of advice diligently. However, when she’s absent from the studio, they are equally concerned and disappointed to not see their favorite anchor behind the desk. However, the 62-year-old anchor seems to have made it a habit to miss the morning show lately.
Roberts has been mostly on the move and has missed the morning show for the last two weeks. But her recent absence may have been courtesy of Patrick Dempsey, the A-list Hollywood star. Robin missed the broadcast of the morning show to indulge in a one-on-one conversation with him and they discussed a diverse range of topics in their chat.
What did Robin Roberts and Patrick Dempsey talk about?
The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star is a heartthrob for many women across the world. The 57-year-old actor took some time out of his busy routine to sit with the 'GMA' anchor to talk about dreams, courage, loss, resilience, and finding your flow. The event, held on June 25, was called ‘Finding Your Purpose with Patrick Dempsey: In Conversation with Robin Roberts’ and it explored the question: How do we find our purpose? The event took place in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and fans who attended were able to submit questions for Patrick to answer throughout the evening.
Three-quarters of the ticket costs went to the Dempsey Center, which helps people suffering from cancer. Robin is a survivor of breast cancer and therefore, this cause is very close to her heart. She took to Instagram to share her experience as she clicked a picture with Patrick and her goddaughter Luvy, and Luvy's mother. She captioned the post, “This is all the Monday Motivation I need!! Such a joy last night to spend time with my amazing Goddaughter Luvy and her mom. So glad they were there to hear the convo I had with @patrickdempsey about finding your purpose. Lively conversation, engaged audience…and seeing Luvy take it all in was priceless.”
Robin is missing from studio action
The event with Patrick Dempsey took place just after the 'GMA' anchor’s absence from the studio crossed the ten-day mark as she was last seen in the studio on June 13. Robin has not been behind the desk and has been reporting from all around the world. Only recently she was in Berlin, reporting on the Special Olympics and other events for the morning show. While she was attending the event with Patrick in Portsmouth, Linsey Davis covered for her but given her continuous outings, it’s not clear when the revered host will be back in the studio full-time.
