MEAWW reported a relatively similar incident when the police found a 5-year-old child who died from gunshot wounds on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, a five-year-old boy was killed, turning the family's holiday weekend into a tragedy. Following a complaint of a shooting at a Kansas City, Missouri, residence shortly before 6.45 pm on Saturday, police and rescue officials administered life-saving measures to the youngster who had been shot. The youngster was admitted to a local hospital after his injuries were deemed critical.
However, at 11.43 am on Christmas morning, police issued an update expressing "immense grief," reporting that the child had died the night before in the hospital. According to authorities, detectives questioned witnesses who were present inside the house at the time of the crime. “Although the death investigation continues, this is believed to be accidental and detectives are not looking for any suspects in the case,” said police. During a terrible Christmas weekend in the United States, at least 14 people were killed and 16 more were injured in shooting events. While gun violence shook Denver, Philadelphia, and Chicago, a child under the age of five was among the growing list of victims in Kansas City.
In another related incident, MEAWW reported a missing youngster from Oregon was discovered dead with a gunshot wound after his parents died in an apparent murder-suicide while evading cops. Cops confirmed on July 28 that the body was that of two-year-old Aiden Salcido of Medford, Oregon. On July 24, his parents, Hannah Janiak and Daniel Salcido were killed in a murder-suicide after fleeing a traffic stop near Kalispell, Montana. Salcido allegedly shot his wife Janiak in the head before turning the gun on himself. The couple's remains were discovered in the car, but their son's body was discovered in nearby woods with a gunshot wound to the head.
This is a developing story and MEAWW will keep you updated regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting.
