'Jane the Virgin' star Gina Rodriguez ties the knot with beau Joe LoCicero
'Jane the Virgin' star Gina Rodriguez married her longtime love Joe LoCicero in an intimate ceremony on Saturday, May 4. The actress took to Instagram to announce the big news to her fans.
"Thank you to my mother in law for the wedding of my dreams. And the village that helped her," Rodriguez wrote in the caption. She continued to thank everyone else who helped put the grand affair together. The sweet video ended on a note to her husband.
"May the 4th, 2019 was absolute MAGIC. To my husband Joseph, I am yours forever," she added. The couple met on the sets of The CW hit show in 2016 when LoCicero played a stripper on the show and began dating soon after. They got engaged in the summer of 2018 and confirmed the news in August roughly a month after rumors of the engagement started going around.
At that time, she was reported saying, “He’s the best. He’s the f—ing best. We’ve been engaged for like a month — I’ve kept it a secret for a while.” At the same time, she was hesitant to reveal too much about their relationship.
"I just want to live! I think there’s a huge blessing in the fact that people care," she said. "That's a beautiful thing, so that feels really good. But another part of me wants to keep a little something that’s just mine, 'cause there's not too many things I have like that anymore."
While appearing as a guest on 'The Talk', the actress admitted she wanted a stress-free wedding. "I feel like we're gonna elope," she joked. "It's a lot of work. There was a point when I was like, 'Everybody arrange everything.' I just want to show up. I just want to do it. I want to say 'I do,'" she continued. "I'm happy. And then I started hearing about what they wanted to do and I was like, 'Well, I don’t know about that.'"
